Beta - Digital Artefact

My update on my DA...

I had a very rocky start with my digital artefact however I gained the best outcome.

My idea to create the overseas travel recruitment site seemed a bit out of reach in regards to the duration of this project and the technical skills I need in order to do so.

You may say well why don't you learn these skills? Well of course I could learn them, after all I did create an app, however its the time.

It took me a year to build my app and that didn't even have the coding behind it yet.

So with my past experiences of building similar things, I decided to leave that idea hopefully for the future and just focus on something simpler.

NO, I am not taking the easier way out. It is more of a work smarter not harder scenario.

So on the 26th of April at approximately 2:30pm. Miss Ink was born.

Miss Ink is my minimalistic tattoo artistry I created for my love of drawing. The drawings are composed of fine lines and are 'minimal but meaningful'.

'minimal but meaningful' is my slogan for the business which I find is perfect as it describes each and every drawings.

Within the first week of discovering my love for these fine line drawings I got so much praise for my pieces and got multiple request for tattoo drawings.

I have a private story on my snapchat consisting of around 60 people.

I asked for them to send me some tattoo ideas.

I got multiple responses to this story and people asking left, right and centre for me to draw their tattoo ideas.

Safe to say this kept me busy for the next few days.

As I mention in my Beta video, there is a certain genre of people within our community that is interested in these tattoos.

While some may think it's all the 'tradies' and guys and girls who go the the pub.

It's not.

It's more the type of people who like me love to go adventuring, chasing waterfalls, walking along the beach and wearing train conductor hats (if you know you know).

They prefer the simplest things in life... therefore, simple tattoos.

The beauty behind is that it could have so much meaning to an individual personally, but to everyone else it's what they want them to see.

For Miss Ink, I have started to create my social page on Instagram however have not posted anything yet as didn't have enough content before making this video. I will start creating content and promote the page on my twitter and own personal Instagram account. I will also be creating a Tik Tok account for my project.

Tik Tok in today's date is pretty much anyone within the ages of 12-24s main source of information. If they are finding a place to go have a picnic, its not google, it Tik Tok. If they want to find a nice dress for formal, Tik Tok. Want to learn how to draw? Tik Tok. Do makeup? Tik Tok.

With keeping this in mind, I will be creating a Tik Tok account as that is how I will gain all my followers.

Next steps on my journey for Miss Ink, is to create scheduled and structured posts. Allowing at least 4-5 posts per week on Instagram, and around 2-3 Tik Toks to gain maximum engagement. I will also be tracking my engagement, followers and page views in order to analyse and assess where to go and what to do next to meet consumer needs.
