a little bit about us... background + experience

TARA

I am 18 years old and am currently based in the sutherland shire! This is my first year of completing a bachelor of COMMS; with this overarching goal of being a child speech pathologist or wedding planner. My favorite hobbies include dancing, organising and connecting with people. Something special to me is the relationship I have with my family and friends, prioritise majority of my life towards them as it is what makes me most happy. I highly value the conversations with individuals that i meet within my current workplace and just everyday on the street, as connecting with various makes me inspired. I love taking photos of new places, outfits friends and family within the moment as it never fails to make me smile when documenting my memories as I grow. Additionally, I love the fashion world and expressing myself through clothes and makeup as I feel it what represents my happiness best. My goals in the next 5 years is to travel… my heart lies in london! I want to finish my degree and do what I love, even though I may not know what that brings me <3

CHARLI (me)

I am 18 years old and currently living in Sydney Australia! I am completing a Bachelor degree in media and communications studying digital and social media. My main passion in life is to travel the world and see places I would never imagine existed! I love adventures and am a real adrenaline junkie when it comes to activities… I went skydiving on my 16th birthday!! I love being around my family and friends and have a secret eye for photography! I created a travel app for my HSC major, allowing a person to travel the world within their budget and fitting their needs. I would love to further work on this project in the near future!

our vision - concept

Our goal is to create a podcast speaking on a range of topics that appeal to our target audience. We are both 18 years of age and we aim to present our podcast to various UOW students in hoping they are entertained and can relate to our words. We want to incorporate humour into it, making it more engaging and admirable. Our focus is to construct a funky name in which UOW students can remember. We want to include 2-3 topics on particular aspects of uni as well as every day common adult topics. Within our podcast, we want to incorporate our personalities to make our digital artifact more personal and informative, in which our viewers are immediately drawn to and have difficulty pulling away. Our podcast episodes will run for around 15 minutes, aiming to create a safe break for various students to zone out too. Furthermore we will be incorporating various UOW students into our podcasts by asking various questions and opinions on our social media platforms. This is purely to make our podcast more inclusive and fun!

how will we utilise this?

The overall use of our podcast is to help bring light to fellow uni students and young adolescent individuals to engage and connect with each other. We think this idea is most beneficial as podcasts are on the rise for common communication as it is easily accessible to listen and watch. We aim to thoroughly utilize this idea as a digital artifact as it gives people the opportunity to listen and distract themselves from the harshness of life, especially at uni. Within this podcast platform we want to utilize various of topics that students can connect with and laugh at to attract a community of people who never fail to smile when they listen to it.

listeners + watchers - our audience

For this podcast we are aiming to target an audience within the ages of 18-24, mainly focal pointing towards UOW students, as we will talk about the uni life on campus as well as daily common chaos within the young adult life. We will be gaining our audience through posting videos of us making the podcast (reels etc), on both Instagram and Twitter, once we figure out our podcast name.

This will enable students and others to take a break from reality and zone out to our interesting thoughts and takes on life itself.
