Miss Ink.
What a ride it has been for this Digital Artefact.
From developing a travel page to creating minimalistic tattoos, is certainly a leap.
During the COVID-19 lockdown (well 2-3 lockdowns, I've lost count) I found my creative side. I would paint, draw, sketch, sew, spray paint, ink paint, and all of the above. I absolutely loved it. So through the talk of tattoos in class early last term, I decided, why not try drawing tattoos??
It's something I've never done before, so why not, try something new?
I started at simple things like this first image...
Then progressively got better and did more extreme and complicated artwork, with still remaining in that 'minimalistic' theme.
Miss Ink has certainly been a challenge without a doubt, as it's not new. It's not a new artistry, and it's been done before. I just wanted to see how good I was at it and if people would really enjoy it. When it came to community engagement, it lacked. I posted the account on my main account which has 1,306 followers, and I only gained 22 followers. This clearly showed that my pieces may not have been engaging or suitable to the people that viewed the profile

This is a story from my main and personal account, I promoted @miss.ink__ by sharing my first post from the account. I made sure to have posted a range of photos for people to see when looking at the account.
248 PEOPLE tapped on the account to look at it.
22 PEOPLE followed.
I'm not entirely sure what I did wrong to get this much engagement but, here is a list of things I believe I would do next time or now to further gain engagement.
Have friends and family follow the account and show activity (liking, commenting, sharing)
Post some of my best tattoos first so then people can see it when they first click on the page
Change up the background of the content. (I stuck to my chosen aesthetic as mentioned in previous blogs, however, I believe it would do better if I showed the tattoos in a genre of ways.)
Create a Tik Tok page to gain a wider audience.
I got quite a few people asking me to draw customised specific tattoos. Which I absolutely loved doing!
I got requests from snowboarding tattoos to infinity symbols with roman numerals, butterflies, birth dates, etc.

I love curating this project, however others seem not to think so. I would like to change the possible aesthetic for it and also keep pumping out the minimal tattoos to keep consumer engagement going.
As referring back to my pitch and beta, I believe I met my desired aesthetic and layout. I did everything I was hoping for when looking back at those projects, but somehow it didn't do as well as I thought it was going to. I will continue to work on this in future and try get those viewings and following up!!!
Thank You for following me on this project!
XOXO, Charli
