Peer Review Pt 2.

In the past week I got to catch up with my BCM302 Peers to update each other on our DAs! Heres how it went and my thoughts on their projects:

Chloe’s Recipe Platform – Cook with Chloe

Through examining Chloe’s cooking project, we recognized the significance of staying up-to-date with current trends, especially on the fast-paced platform of TikTok. Chloe’s ongoing efforts to prototype and refine her content to better align with her lifestyle and audience preferences were particularly insightful. Her use of adaptable templates via Canva to create a consistent aesthetic for her socials has clearly paid off, and her willingness to experiment with new segments like “Day on My Plate” demonstrates her adaptability. I appreciated seeing Chloe balance content that aligns with trends while still remaining true to her brand.

Maddy’s Wollongong Coffee Scene Project

In discussing Maddy’s Wollongong Coffee Scene project, we touched on the challenge of balancing content that drives engagement with content that we genuinely enjoy creating. Maddy shared that she would love to do this project full-time if it were financially sustainable, given her passion for creating café-related content. However, she feels conflicted when the content that draws in viewers isn’t always what she finds most fulfilling to make. We also noted the importance of maintaining an active presence on social platforms. Maddy mentioned her hesitation to follow inactive pages, as it suggests the creator may no longer be invested in the project—an important point to consider for consistent audience growth.

Laura’s Gaming Content Shift from Twitch to Pinterest

Laura’s strategic pivot to focus on Pinterest as her main outlet for gaming content is both a creative and bold choice. She is testing the idea of leveraging TikTok and Instagram to draw viewers to her Pinterest boards, where they can engage with longer gaming content and connect with her Twitch channel. Laura’s tactical use of similar algorithms across Pinterest and TikTok is starting to show positive results, and I’m excited to watch her progress with cross-platform engagement in the coming months.

MY DA - WANDERLUST

My travel app, Wanderlust, has grown from an initial idea into a prototype that aims to be both a networking tool and a practical travel guide for solo travelers. Since our last discussion, I’ve been exploring potential monetization options and considering investor outreach. I’ve also been testing various platforms and content styles to find what resonates best with my target audience. My peers suggested adding a “solo travel survival guide” feature, which could make the app even more appealing and work well on TikTok Notes as a new venture. It was encouraging to hear that they see potential in the multiple functionalities I’m exploring and believe it could become an essential tool for solo travelers.

It was insightful and encouraging to exchange thoughts with Laura, Chloe and Maddy on the future direction of our projects. This peer review session not only provided valuable feedback but also inspired new ideas to better connect with and grow our audiences.
